The Coalition Government’s strong plan for securing our water supply
includes funding for local communities to save water through every day
practical measures.
In the most recent round of grants another 10 local community
groups have received $423,271 in funding to help save 6,994,352 litres
of water every year.
The Coalition's strong plan for supporting our pensioners recognises that all Australians should benefit from a growing economy. Our plan includes practical help for the pensioners, people with disabilities, self funded retirees and carers who have done so much to build our country.
Under our plan, the Utilities Allowance will increase to $500.
The Coalition will guarantee that if living costs for pensioners increase faster than general inflation or wages, pensions will be topped up to ensure that pensioners are fully compensated for increases in the cost of living.

Press Release
Pensioners, self funded retirees and carers in Sydney will benefit from
the Coalition’s comprehensive plan to ensure all Australians share in
the benefits of our strong and growing national economy, Ms Georgina
Anderson said today.
“More than 3 million Australians will benefit from a re-elected
Coalition Government’s plans to reward and encourage those who have
contributed, and continue to contribute, so much to our community,” Ms
Anderson said.
“More than 2 million older Australians of Age Pension age on income
support, including 9,279 residents in Sydney will benefit from the
Coalition’s plan to increase the Utilities Allowance to $500 per year
per single, and $500 per year for a couple.
Strong economic management has enabled the Coalition Government to build on our plan for more clinical services, more mental health workers and more support for Australians with mental illness, their families and carers.
The Coalition Government has led the way in delivering real,
practical improvements in services for people living with mental
illness, and helping to stop them from falling through the gaps in
services. More than 400,000 people across Australia have benefited from
our mental health reforms which were announced last year.
Liberal Candidate For Sydney, Georgina Anderson, has confirmed she will
be participating in a candidate debate on Monday 5 November 2007 at the
Balmain Town Hall. The Chair of the debate will be Mayor Cr Carolyn
Allen.
"I'm looking forward to the debate", Ms Anderson said. "In my travels around the electorate many young people are planning for the future and aspire to home ownership. With 11 years of unbroken economic performance you can count on the coalition to work tirelessly to lower unemployment and to continue the upward trend of real wages growth".
