On the eve of this election I would like to thank all the people who
have supported me throughout the campaign. I complete this campaign
with positive feelings of how many local people have called in with
words of support. I have been surprised at the number of children who
have called on behalf of elderly parents in the electorate asking me to
speak with them and to drop off materials. Many elderly people are
afraid of the Internet or do not have the ability to connect. Moving
forward there is a community responsibility to assist our elderly
citizens to connect to the richness of the online world. Online voting
can't be far away either. It would certainly save an almighty waste of
resources.
To friends, family, supporters, senators, ministers, councillors,
Liberal Party staff and those amazing volunteers who do have the time to
give yet still find the time, thank you.
Finally I would like to thank my campaign manager Edward Mandla for the
amazing job he has done in, strategising, fundraising, rallying support
and his overall "can do" attitude. His ability to multi task, prioritise
and ask for support never fails to surprise me.
